As you may have read in my blog A Home in Need of a Family, two months ago the FYM team had planned to build a house for Lupita’s sister-in-law Mari, but another church beat us to it. We then began a search for a family needing a home, as the FYMs had already raised enough money to build it. A month ago we found another prospective family, but that fell through as well. We decided to go to Clara (who houses the Bible study I am a part of in Granjas) to see if she knew of anyone in need of a house. She told us about her sister-in-law, Antonia, who has been renting a house but has been struggling to pay for rent and food because her husband does not have a well paying job. We checked into the situation with Antonia, and starting Tuesday (providing all goes well and the creek don’t rise) we will begin building a home for Antonia’s family right behind Clara’s house. It will be just like Clara’s AIM-build house, only yellow instead of blue. I am thankful that the Lord has given us the opportunity to bless Antonia’s family with this home. She has just recently become a Christian, and it will allow her to spend more time with Clara, who is such a great example to the other women. A couple of the FYMs have also gotten to know Antonia’s daughter Nanci (in the picture) well and are looking forward to helping out her family. Please pray for our FYM group as we work during this next week, but even more I ask for your prayers for Antonia’s family, that this may be an opportunity to see the Lord’s provision and to grow in their faith. Thanks & God bless!
Sounds like a great story – can’t wait to hear updates on how it goes.
