Monday our first cold front for the season rolled into Matamoros (called el norte, which means the north). The First Year Missionaries were able to get a taste of how cold it can get once we are further into winter. I enjoyed the break from the hot weather, but I’m not really looking forward to thirty or fourty degree weather with little heat. You really have to learn to layer up the clothing. Please be praying for the people of Granjas to stay warm this winter, as they have no electricity and little gas. Also, they are always in need of winter clothing, so if you would like to send some down, let me know, and I’ll tell you how to get it to me to hand out.
This is a picture of Chad, Jenny and Lauren in Granjas one afternoon. They are the FYMs who are helping me with the ministry in this neighborhood. One of the families we know let them borrow their tricycle just for fun, and I think the team really enjoyed it. 🙂 I am excited to see what the Lord has planned for these FYMs this year; they each have a great love for children, which is VERY needed in Granjas. So far we have been building the relationships with people we already know in the neighborhood, and we are anticipating meeting new families as well. Please continue in prayer for direction and God’s hand in this area of ministry.
Thank you all for your prayers! I could not be here without each one of you! God bless!
