Anne Milligan, who works at the Gateway in Matamoros posted a blog update on how they are doing.  It sounds like they made it through the storm alright and things are getting back to normal.  Thanks for all your prayers.   Here is what she had to say about Matamoros (from the Gateway's blog on 7/28/08):

Hurricane Dolly blew through the Gateway leaving behind mostly superficial damage, and flooding all of Matamoros. Strong winds forced trees prostrate as waters rose, filling houses and stranding vehicles. Outhouses blew over, porches peeled off, and structures fell to the ground. Life on both sides of the border took a harder hit than we anticipated.

Less than one week later, much of the water has seeped back into the ground. The city is back in motion and life is beginning to regulate itself again. Due to the poor infrastructure, some areas of Matamoros are still inaccessible with flooded streets or muddy impasses. However, our own ejido got power back days before many of the homes in south Texas that were affected by the storm.

All three of our ministry sights are accessible by road. The structure we are building for Pastor Jesus's church still stands. Participants now have a new chance to meet the immediate felt needs of others. This storm opens new doors for ministry, and many people are excited to step out.
